![]() ![]() I could also point to legacy, where the card is legal, and barely sees play, isn't run as the spell of choice in dedicated reanimation decks, and is more of a backup plan for Dredge which isn't a very prominent deck anyway. Could it break the turn 4 rule? Would it be so good there would have to be main deck graveyard hate? I just don't see how getting three creatures out, plus this card and a fatty in the yard is easy to do in modern.Īnother curiosity I have is we currently have Rest in Peace and Grafdigger's Cage which feel like the best graveyard hate around that wasn't around back when this card was broken. Now I wasn't around when decks that abused that card were around so I am having trouble seeing what kind of deck Dread Return would make that would be better than the current graveyard based decks: 4c gifts, Dredgevine, or Goryo's Vengeance (none of which are close to tier 1 anyway). Every time there is a banlist discussion I see generally the same statement: "Golgari Grave-Troll is okay to unban but Dread Return is too broken". I am curious how this card would drastically effect the modern format. r/magicTCG is not produced, endorsed, supported by, or affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
